Biology Departments and Programs

Some Other Biology Departments and Programs

at Oregon State University

Programs in several other biological science departments in the College of Science parallel parts of a Zoology major:
Biochemistry and Biophysics
Botany and Plant Pathology
Microbiology

Undergraduates may also earn a BS degree in Biology or Environmental Science, both of which are interdisciplinary majors cut across departmental lines and involve faculty from all of the above departments.

Biology-related majors outside the College of Science are found in The College of Agricultural Sciences, The College of Forestry, The College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences, The College of Pharmacy, and The College of Veterinary Medicine.

At the graduate level interdisciplinary degrees are offered in Genetics and in Molecular and Cell Biology, the latter within the umbrella research unit, the Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing.

Graduate studies in cancer biology are also possible at the Linus Pauling Institute.
