Introduction to Pre-Vet
Welcome to A Preview of Pre-Veterinary Medicine in The College of Science.
Head Pre-Veterinary Advisor: Dr. Lynne D. Houck, 5006 Cordley Hall, 737-4353, houckl@science.oregonstate.edu
Here are some considerations for Pre-Vet study at OSU:
1. Veterinary medical schools require top grades and evidence of experience with and commitment to working with animals.
2. You can select any major area of study at OSU so long as it includes a specific set of science courses.
3. Most biological sciences majors are similar for the first year, so changing majors generally is not a problem.
4. Majors in the College of Science and College of Agricultural Sciences differ in their approach to the study of animals.
